The brief
The big platforms optimise for reach, while most people just want to know what their friends are doing tonight. Vuinn needed to feel as immediate as a group chat and as considered as a photo album.
Vuinn is a social app built around private groups of people who actually know each other — shared moments, plans and presence, with no public feed to perform for.
The approach
Private by default
There is no public profile and no discovery surface. Every post belongs to a circle and joining one takes an invite, which quietly changes how people behave inside it.
Presence over engagement
Who is around right now is a first-class signal. The app shows availability and plans instead of an infinite scroll engineered to keep you there.
Realtime that stays cheap
Posts, reactions and presence run over WebSockets with Redis-backed fan-out, so a circle of twelve feels instant without a server per user.
